Jeff Grant, President of TRIO Display, a retail store design and supply company based in San Diego, CA, just wrote Work.com's first Guide to Mannequins. Jeff's guide is loaded with insider tidbits and everything you wanted to know about mannequins but were afraid to ask. Did you know:
- Torso forms sell more bras, while butt forms boost sales of briefs and panties
- The word mannequin comes from the Middle Dutch "maneken" meaning "little men"
- Just as real people do, every mannequin has a "good" side
Jeff suggests you put your mannequins in a realistic situation in your display window. Use your mannequins to tell a story, and they will engage and intrigue potential customers.
Good places to get more ideas for creating your own creative retail displays are at flickr store design groups such as Mannequin, Shop Windows, Window Shopping, Shopfronts & Window Displays, even Ugly Display. For more retail design advice from experts, see Jeff's retail blog.
If you have any great photos of your creative store display using mannequins, link to them in the blog comments, or add them to your own guide.

I really enjoy the articles on Jeff's retail blog, especially this one about retail going green. Thanks for adding this link to your post about his guide, Shara.
